How can a skyscraper foster the sense of community felt in an urban neighborhood?
A thorough understanding of street-level relationships can be reinterpreted into a hierarchy of residential and public zones within one building to accommodate for programmatic gaps in the city and encourage high rise dwellers to interact with one another similarly to their street-level counterparts.
The exterior facade is intentionally left open to create a ventilated yet spatially sheltered outdoor space. Glazed panels are sized to take advantage of views both in and out of the building, and the exchange of air brings the sounds and smells of the street into the building, further connecting this neighborhood with its ground-level counterparts.
