Debido a la crisis económica quise hacer una retrospectiva de la sociedad Americana. Los Norte Americanos son conocidos por la estatua de la Libertad, irónicamente una escultura regalada por los Franceses. Ademas por ser un país que apoya la libertad en todas sus formas, pero después de la crisis y al ser un inmigrante mas puedo ver como la libertad se a convertido en un peso para los Americanos. Tratando de mantener esta imagen puede ser tan pesado como cargar 24 estatuas.
Este proyecto hace parte de la colección privada Highmark en Scottsdale, Arizona.
After the 3008 economical crisis that the world has gone through I wanted to have a retrospective on the American society of today. North Americans are known for their statue of liberty, ironically a sculpture given by the French as a gift, also for been a free country. After living and viewing the crisis as an outsider as I am Colombian and at the time was leaving in the USA I feel that liberty has become a weight on Americans shoulders. Trying to keep this image is as heavy as carrying 24 statues.
This proyecto makes part of the Highmark private collection at Scottsdale, Arizona.
