Brief: To design a receptacle that can be injection molded, having a sheet metal part with a meaningful function.
My product works on a simple mechanism inspired by the shutter of a camera lens. It is an alternative for sealer clips used to make plastic packets air-tight. The four shutters, due to their to and fro motion because of cam action seal the packets between them from all sides. Its form reselmbles a toroid that encloses the shutter mechanism in its hollowness.
Note: This project exhibits my abilities to understand and develop complex designs and incorporate and validate the same for mass manufacturing processes. Such a complex product is not viable for a simple function like sealing plastic packets.
