What did you do during your planning process?
While searching for a song, I was leaning towards Take on Me by A-ha or Is this Love? by Bob Marley and even Palace/Curse by The Internet but once I started and finished each storyboard for these songs, something was telling me that I could do better. I wanted to have something with meaning. And I wanted people to feel a certain way while watching it. I really wanted my audience to be struck and moved by this music video so I went with a song that is very dear to me. The main reason I chose this song is because The Internet’s lead singer “Syd the Kid” told the crowd at one of their concerts one night that this song was written for Michael Brown. I started to make my storyboard as well as my shot list and once I had that, plus my actors/actresses, I was able to start filming.
What software and hardware did you use?
I had to use a tripod while filming with the XDCAM as well as a memory card of course. No microphones were used in the filming of this video due to the music itself. Once I had my filming done, I used a Mac computer with the help of Final Cut Pro in order to make my shots come alive.
What media did you create or collect in order to make your project?
In order to make my project, I had to first use a website called Storyboardthat.com in order to make my storyline. Then I simply filmed my footage, importeted it into Final Cut then started the Post-Production phase.
