introduction/inspiration
Network; a word commonly heard by design students. Everyone is telling us to do it and they make it sound so easy, though with a design student’s lack of free time and funds it can be challenging. Design students live in a metaphorical bubble, letting classmates and teachers from our school help when we need them. There is no real contact with students at other schools in the area, aside from award shows and design events, which normally end up costing something. We sit in our classrooms, or at home, aware of each other’s existence yet curious of what everyone is doing.

objective
Break the barriers separating local design schools and students and build a student design community, through a magazine, in which everyone can benefit and learn from.

strategy & positioning
Connexion magazine brings together the design students from various design schools in the lower mainland. It will be the stepping stone in creating a student design community. Here students can gain insights into what students and professionals are doing, learn valuable tips and tricks, connect with other students, build networks, and so much more. Since this magazine is for design students there is no reason to leave them out of the creation of it. They can submit their work to be profiled, design the cover, and even write an article. Students will be able to contribute to each and every step in the creation of each quarterly issue.
