This is my first longboard for HoneyBadgerDecks! 

 

'Sohbet' has no english equivalent. It means something like mystical conversation on mystical subjects. This handmade Honey badger board was handed over to me for arting on. So i was Rumi inspired - trying to visualize the moment that things speak for you- and all the cultural remix , the elements that make up a person burst to converse in place of language. Sometimes the energy of a person in front of you speaks for itself. The lines and the way fabric twists around them tells you everything. Everything is conversation and conversation=conversion. ///// "Human beings are discourse. That flowing moves through us whether you say anything or not. Everything that happens is filled with pleasure and warmth because of the delight of the discourse that's always going on. " (Rumi: Discourse 53) The perpetual migration of humans (whether voluntary or involuntary- or forced) leads to unknown and exciting collisions and mixing of ideas and stories- a multi-layered cultural discourse. A widened consciousness. If only peoples would accept the inevitability and strange beauty of it, aid in this mixing of humans, not see it some sort of sick 'dilution' or risk-taking. Of what? There are many displaced peoples around us- the majority that can't even reach us because the law won't allow it. Lets be grateful for all the cultural remixing and all that its taught us, because who knows one day all borders might be sealed for good. Here's to appreciating human discourse and engaging deeply with things we are not familiar with!
