Locker Room

Photography

Despite the fact that lockers are usually hidden from the stranger’s eyes, this photo project lets us flow into the everyday habitat of sportsmen from inside, making an accent on differences between any kind of sport. It unites the pictures with the circumstances not only before a training day, but also after that, when a sportsman feels an endless fatigue and at the same time he is satisfied with the result. We take a closer look at the different variations of the uniform and equipment, which are used by sportsmen. It is the factor which emphasizes the individuality of different activities. Here is one more difference the appearance and shape of their bodies. If we compare a dozen of sportsmen, we could notice and almost predict the kind of sport, because their anatomy has a relevant fact to mention – the accent on muscles points at the most developed part of the body: swimmer’s back, basketball player’s height, athlete’s strong legs, pole dancer’s arms and trunk. The appearance of the locker room does depend on the kind of sport, everything is different in comparison with each other – some give as a feeling of USSR aesthetics in there, some of lockers look amazing with brand new closets and the smell of just painted walls. In spite of all these examples, locker room is the place which unites all hidden feelings, excitement and the spirit of competition.
Thank you for your appreciation.
