Homemade Respiratory Inhaler

Homemade Respiratory Inhaler
Indigenous inhaler made from a dried gourd
This is mainly a social impact research project for the India Future of Change Design Competition (2011). It is an observation of Indian culture, tradition, and living standards. It is creating a solution that not only solves the problem, but adds opportunity.

I found an opportunity in people creating their own solutions with local, accessible materials. The gourd is used in daily meals as well as containers in dried form. The idea is to create an inhaler using the accessible dried gourd and other easily found materials.

This project was in the top ten finalists in the international category. I was invited to Delhi, India to present my work to various professionals in the design and social sector.
