Through my job at Campus Dining, we were able to partner with the Sustainability department to create a whole new set of waste stream signs. I researched waste streams at other schools, compiled a list of common waste items, and created an icon set as well as many variations of signs. There are currently hundreds of these signs affixed to trash cans on Grand Valley's campus. Recycling and composting are very important to GVSU (and me too!), and these signs make it much easier for students to quickly sort waste into the correct bins.
