Magazine Spread: Bruce Weber

Project Discription: We had to design a feature article on a chosen photographer using a leading grid. We were to create a four spread article about our chosen photographer that embodied interesting design and proper typography rules. The design should be typographically beautiful, simple without being simplistic, have a clear hierarchy, an attention to detail. It needs to be interesting, inviting, dynamic. I chose Bruce Weber as my photographer. Bruce Weber is known for his provocative, controversial and groundbreaking images. Weber is also known for his focus on America, innocence and personality in his work and is one of the most iconic fashion photographers of his time. Born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania in 1946, he studied theater in Ohio and then pursued a degree in film directing at NYU in the 60’s and worked briefly as a model. By the mid 1970s, Weber was producing a great number of black and white photographs of young men and women.  He shot the muscled, natural, sporty ideal of male models. And was first known for his work on campaigns for Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Enjoy!
