When Kostadin Kokalanov and I were selected to join Night15 in Plovdiv, we had to prepare an exhibition that was just one
out of the hundred different events during those two days.
We had to take carefully three very important decisions — how to reach our audience, turning our display into organic part of their journey, to blur the lines between Rubber Gallery’s interior and the city’s exterior during the night and, at the same time,
to make the most out of of the gallery’s 19th century three-level building.
The approach exploited the architectural benefits of the space “revealing” them through our pieces. There were ten main compositions — executed with light boxes on the ground floor, visual projection in the basement and screen printed posters
on the second floor.
