Enabled for Disabled

Enabled for Disabled

Enabled for Disabled is this International Student Poster Competition, Skopje 2015.
The motto “Enabled for Disabled” needs to point out that and secure equal opportunities and equal rights for people with    disabilities. As designers are obligation are to fight discrimination and inequality and ensure that people who have disabilities are regarded as equal members of society.
The main objective of this competition is creating better opportunities for people with disabilities. In my work, I would like to talk about the problem of handicapped people movement. They face  a lot of obstacles when just trying to go out in the street! In many public places Teheran’t any lifts.

I would like to talk about the problem of handicapped people movement. They face  a lot of obstacles when just trying to go out
in the street! In many public places  Teheran’t any lifts. Besides, stairs are not equipped  with handrails and ramps.
I set a goal to create a poster using only letters. Font carries great visual possibilities. With the help of steps set in different directions, I wrote the word «disabilities». Thus not only does the meaning of words affects a viewer but also the character of the font. Letters got the unique shape and proportions, become rough and hard and even the texture of the stone helps reinforce the sense of the word. I have intentionally made a contrast between the stairs which fill the entire space and a small unnoticeable man. This technique helps to see the extension of the problem with the eyes of disabled people. The thing that seems ordinary and absolutely safe for us, makes them scared and frightened.

Another poster to this competition involves another problem. I have drown attention to hearing impaired in it.
This people are deprived of a great joy of life. They don't know lyrical compositions of Beethoven and Bach, they have never had a chance to experience elation after the music of the Beatles and Queen. Healthy people often say that they can't live without music, they wake up to music, go to work, play sports, they live to it. Music is a great power that can force you to be sad and can
cure you. Music is life for us. But just a word for them.

I hope this contest will not go unnoticed and will motivate peopleAs for the first poster, this can also be called «typographical» but here typography is different. I created the typographic poster without using any letters. I wrote the word "music" using a sign language. Each gesture represents a letter. I think it reflects how the music looks in the world of this people.to action, to take a step towards equal opportunities for disabled people. And it will raise the fire of hope in their souls.
