Mike Zarcone's profile

Your Place. Your Time.

Travel brands tend to have tremendous success with promotions that involve high-end gift giveaways. As the new Marketing Manager for Delta Vacations, I was determined to impress our consumers, travel agent clients, and my supervisors by solidifying a partnership with a personal contact, Gil Ozir, CMO of luxury watch brand, Raymond Weil, and Delta Airlines.

I met Gil in 2006 at a Raymond Weil launch event for their ESPN anchor series at Babe Ruth's Restaurant in NYC. It didn't take much to get Gil excited about working with Delta Airlines and for three months I lead all negotiations between Raymond Weil, Delta Vacations, Travel Impressions and qualifying hotels and tourist boards worldwide. At the end of the negotiations Raymond Weil agreed to give Delta Vacations 40 luxury watches to giveaway to qualifying Delta and Travel Impressions bookings in exchange for widespread exposure across all Delta promotional channels.

Tying in themes of time and travel, Gil and I agreed on the campaign name "Your Place. Your Time." The campaign artwork needed to match both brands, which was slightly difficult because the Raymond Weil brand uses traditional luxury dimmed brand colors like black, grey, and mahogany; while Delta's colors are bright red, white, and blue. After drafting several variations both design departments agreed on the below artwork.

Campaign Reach Details:
- Online banners across Delta Airlines' Vacation sites (300x250, 120x600, 728x90)
- Direct Mailer sent to over 20,000 Raymond Weil consumers
- Email promotion sent to over 60,000 travel agents, 200,000 Delta Vacation travelers, and 20,000 Raymond Weil watch consumers
- Fax promotion sent to 5,000 travel agent offices

The Raymond Weil x Delta Vacations "Your Place. Your Time." partnership campaign  resulted in increased sales for both parties and won the Gold Adrian Award for Best Advertising Concept and Design for a Single Ad Campaign.
