A book of a memory
A project in which we had to hand make a book about a prominent event in our lives. I created a book about the time I went to see Motörhead at the Southampton Guildhall.
My book won a prize as one of the best books in our year.
I took to using grainy abstract photographic imagery using steam, light and other gritty textures alongside thick and harsh blackletter (Fette Fraktur) to create a harsh and cold design, of which reflected upon the experience itself. Pages of tracing paper printed with the body text separate the type and imagery to create another layer of complexity.
