"Autism in Shapes" is a project I worked in an effort to understand, not autism, BUT autistic people and the feelings they get from the rest of the world. The idea came to my mind when I met Milda Bandzaitė and heard their dissapointment with those people who don't try to understand autistics but instead trying to "fix" them, put them in boxes and stereotypes of our society. I will call you to read their fantastic post on the subject "I'm not the one who needs to be fixed, it is You who is wrong!"

My first meeting though with Milda happened when they contacted me to share with the world their new book "The Girl Who Didn’t Know How To Be".
“This book supports autism rights, pro-neurodiversity and is against any harmful views that autism needs to be cured, feared or fixed.”
"The Girl Who Didn’t Know How To Be" tells the story about a girl who tries very hard to fit into society and her peer groups. She struggles to find a place in this world, but finally she rebels and creates her own rules.

Milda Bandzaitė is also an amazing artist. Please check out their portfolio : http://www.aiws.lt/

My work is influenced by the Greek artist (etcher) Thanasis Exarxopoulos, who through his images searches and tries to understand life and the world, to depict the paradox, the darkness, the fleeting..

I really hope you will like the work below and will spread the message...
Accept Autism.
Embrace their neurodiversity. You are different in their eyes too.
Rocking Relieves Stress.
Did you know that people in severe distress sometimes rock back and forth as well? Does it make them different?
I am able to separate my emotions from the rest of my minds.
Accept Autism. Love Autistics
I love you very much! Do I need to touch you? Why?

One of the hardest challenges for families facing autism is the problem of touch.
Often, autistic children resist hugging and other types of physical contact, causing distress all around.
But why others should feel distressed about it? Why really do YOU need that touching? Because obvious autistics can love you unconditional without needing to touch the ones they love...
Repetitiveness...
I love doing the same things again and again. Just because I really love them! Don't you, as well?
Communication.
Communication will be easier if you reach back with understanding and kindness.
Thank you for watching!
