In today’s world where entertainment is available at the push of a button, a pop-up book allows us an early example of interactive media, and also provide an alternative to television. Created through the combination of mechanical and hand-crafted techniques, pop-up book is ultimately dependent on a little glue, paper and lots of imagination. Books with movable illustrations remind us that the unique and imaginative work provides the most lasting pleasure, experience the physical world in which the twodimensional and three-dimensional are
seldom interchangeable.

Because of the inherent, immediate i unfettered children’s response and their visual reading, features of pop-up books are especially suitable for children’s books that still thrive in modern publishing. Pop-up book is an excellent educational tool, an inexhaustible source of knowledge that the child will be able to apply in the future. The child must play in order to constantly discovering something new to learn and grow as an individual.

Movables have mechanisms such as flaps, pull tabs, and wheels (volvelles) that cause movement on the page surface. Pop-ups employ various folding devices that cause figures to lift, pop up, rise and unfold, or unfold and extend when a page is opened. Despite changes in technologies, materials, and mechanisms, contemporary books, like their predecessors, are still assembled by hand and share some of the same construction principles.
