To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Jazz our school's art department was contacted about having a poster contest.
So here we are.
It was fun topic, I was glad the project came to us.
My design started out in a portrait layout and was more complex than this. It had more elements, like smoke, and distress on the "JAZZ" letters. But in the end I started to bring everything back. Take out, take out... And I'm really happy with it.
Thelonious Monk & Sachmo were done all in Illustrator and the rest was done in Photoshop.
