Dope Criterion Collection Cover
I had recently seen the film "Dope" by Rick Famuyiwa. I liked it so much I wanted to see what I could do if I was tasked with designing a cover for The Criterion Collection.
The inspiration for the design is influenced by 90's hip hop, which the film's main characters are obsessed with, Keith Haring graffiti which was prominent during that era. Taking those elements and modernizing them by simplifiying the palette and typography, and making a more structured and monolined version of a Haring illustration for the cover.
