+ The Brief
Central Art School is a new initiative, aiming to highlight and promote the creative industries department within the Institution as a prestigious destination for art and design in Perth, Western Australia. An identity that complements but also distinguishes itself from the existing Central brand (above) was required.
> The Solution
My goal was to find a way to represent Art School in a way that did not deviate too far from the visual language already established by the Central Institute of Technology. At the same time, I felt that it needed to appear as a body that could be seen as embracing innovation, progress, collaboration and youthful energy within the feild of art and design and not simply as a dependent auxiliary body.
This is a symbol that represents a platform for cutting edge art and design that can easily be recognised nationally as a destination known for harvesting some of the world's best emerging talent. +
