Travel Poster
The parameters for this project were to create a travel poster for one of the packages that Grand Circle Travel in Boston, MA offers to travelers looking for a getaway. Of the various options, I chose the "Safari Serengeti" trip, which had destinations such as the Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the Ngorongoro Highlands & Crater. I wanted to create a poster that was fun and captured the essence of the trip. A safari is a expedition to observe animals in their natural habitat, and I wanted to have the viewer feel like seeing these animals would be something tangible, something they could interact with. I sketched out a variety of animals, experimenting with how I could incorporate the trip information into the design. I ultimately decided to illustrate the entire design by hand, and incorporated the trip name directly onto the zebra looking over his shoulder at the viewer. After struggling to find the perfect typeface for the destinations, I decided to hand draw those as well.
