I finished two images both with great colors in them. The castle I chose to do in a split tone and the paddle boats I chose to do them in a set of tritone colors.
I completed the castle using these steps:
I converted the color image to black and white, in the split toning panel I dragged the saturation slider out and adjusted the highlights slider. I did the same work for the shadows. Finally, I leveled it out with the balance slider. The numbers that I ended with were, Highlights: 33 hue and 84 saturation, Shadows: 198 hue and 26 saturation, Balance: +32.
So, this image resulted as orange highlight tint with a green shadow tint. The orange and the green look really vintage to me.
To complete the paddle boats I used these steps:
I pressed “D” to reset the foreground and background color settings, clicked the Gradient Map button and closed it out,
went to the Image menu> Mode >chose Duotone, in the Duotone section, and I chose my Tritone preset.
The Tritone preset I chose consisted of black, blue and pink. The blue and the pink in this image resulted as a nice lavender color, which was appealing to me.
I hope that you all enjoy these adjustments that I used in these images, too. Thanks!
