Hussein Chalayan poppy dress S/S 2001

For this creative cutting project I had to work out how to make this dress by Hussein Chalayan by using draping and pattern cutting on the stand. I did not use any pre-made block pattern to interpret this. The aim of this project was to push the boundaries of my making and sewing skills. I added my own creative interpretation to the back of the dress as it is not shown in the photo. Hussein Chalayan is a Brittish/Turkish Cypriot Fashion Designer known for his experimental use of cutting techniques and fabric choice. This was the first project of my second year studying Fashion Design.
