Some journeys are long and we enjoy every step we take, other journeys are long because they become obstacles in life and that's how this illustration comes to life according to a story that begins and promises a long journey. It maybe reflects a chaotic and giddy stage in my life until now, a lot of changes came along, with family, in social life and personal relationships. Illness, debts and decisions to make that tossed me into nothingness are part of all the condiments poured in this piece I share with you.

 

     This time I illustrated one of the most important Hispanic band in the history of rock: Soda Stereo (Cerati, Alberti, Bosio). This project rises from the death of Gustavo Cerati caused by a cerebrovascular disease, better known as a stroke, that kept him in coma for several years. As the good fan that I consider myself to him and the profound way his story touched me, I created the concept or idea for this illustration.

 

     It's a journey marked in vertical, it means it can be read in two ways, like going into heaven or in parallel like the line in the horizon, line where the sea ends (it depends with the humor you're looking it at). The characters fly throw clouds and maybe beyond. The sea itself becomes basis for space and the moving element of the composition. It's a tribute to the band, although from my part a tribute to the exquisite life of Cerati who always goes ahead in the triangular formation of the three characters, escorted by two golden fish that represent his sons, his legacy and the life that develops in a real matter, ruled by all the physic laws, maintaining the three members of the band floating in a oneiric space parallel to reality, into tangible, the fishes and the global space that has been influenced by his masterpiece, his music, his soul, him.
