Personav is a web application that uses Flicker’s API to retrieve photos, the user’s friend list and other relevant information. With this information it presents alternative relevance ranking algorithms for search results using your social network of friends. It takes into account how you’ve rated relevant content in the past defining an affinity with your friends' interests and also based on your friends’ ratings of such content.
This application was developed using a MySQL database and a combination of a Hibernate, Spring framework (MVC approach) and JSP.
To interact with Flickr a third party library, that uses Flickr's REST interface, on which we've improved and fixed several bugs.
