I was asked by a customer to design, build and install Faux beams in a new residence in a living space with a 20' high ceiling. The customer wanted a rustic look for the beams while appearing to be a structual element of the house. The solution was to miter the edges of the barn wood to create a seamless appearance. The beams were then attached to cleats that were premounted to the ceiling joists.
