We set the exhibition for legendary photographer Lee Miller in Jakopič Gallery in Ljubljana. We had to install photos, movie, text into gallery's place and designed advertising material.Main goal was to present travel and surrealist review of time and reality, in which the artist was thrown. Customer's requirements were spatial arrangement of the exhibition gallery place which includes photo installation, design and typography placement, etc. We were also told to design all advertising material (invitations, posters,...). We started with an analysis of photographer’s life and with material for the exhibition.
The concept of the exhibition is based on a darkroom. Developing photos is a symbol of developing artist’s life path. Used materials that appear in the photography - such as transparent film material, foil. The basic element is the lighting and the inclusion of solarisation effect.

When installing, we refered to her life journey. The route is outlined by the traces of her chronological traveling which is credited with a light stripe and floating photos to illustrate the surrealism. We looked through every destination where she took photo chronologically and put spotes on the map. Then we linked those spots and we get a model which we adjusted to the place exhibition was set.
Visitor starts in front of the projector on the left side, continues up and right towards presentation and first set of pictures. Afterwards the path and the light guide him along the exhibition.
Photos are placed into 50x50cm big black kappa boxes and illuminated from inside. Boxes are hung from the ceilling on wires. We decided this because of the pipes all over the ceilling which is apropriate fot that kind of installation. And we were able to expres this floating feeling, which is part of our surrealism idea. Boxes are 175 cm above the light tape, where the subtitles are printed. There is 30cm between boxes.
