The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter
There’s consequence we have to take when we decide to choose our own path especially when facing uncertainty. So much pressure pouring down on us throughout the years, and yet, you must live on. This is how I felt when I’ve made up my mind to become an artist instead of a commercial photographer a few years back.
In China, like anywhere else in the world, an artist must take risks to be poor and lonely. My first awakening is through a local exhibition that I participated. Considering my very first time in such event, my works were highly recognized by a renowned art critique in China. I started to follow my heart and started to think about my value as a human being. Since then, I never look back. My wife just said, “Go ahead, do what your heart tells you to do. When you get old, you won’t regret!”
