Créateur de Formes. Interactive Dossier

INTERACTIVE PRINT

Dossier Créateur de Formes

The Dossier is one of the final outputs of my M. Sc. Thesis project about interaction design and technologies for cultural heritage.

It’s a interactive print product designed to be sold in Flaminio Bertoni Museum in Varese (Italy), for those interested in a richer visiting experience.
The Dossier aims to fulfill three different purposes. First of all it’s a useful guide to the exhibition, rich in detailed texts and images; subsequently it’s a curated catalogue of  the museum, that the visitor can keep at the end of the visit; lastly, it’s a smart object that allows the visitor to interact directly to the exhibition environment.

The museum will in fact present sensitive areas where the dossier can be used, for example by placing it on a table or leafing through it under a webcam, activating multimedia content (video, audio, images, 3D graphics) that can be enjoyed by the visitor. The interaction is made possible by different technologies, such as tag RFID, image recognition and AR.

All the sensible pages are marked with the red color and, to make contents easily associated with the different sections of the museum, it has been designed a visual grammar composed by 5 unique symbols, that the user will find both on the Dossier and the exhibition areas.

The Dossier represents a way to create a visiting experience that gives importance to interactivity and digital contents, without losing the emotional and affective side so distinctive of physical objects.
