FedEx wanted to completely redesign its online printing service and asked EffectiveUI to help. As a UX architect and lead visual designer, it was up to me to flesh out the information architecture, interaction, and ultimately the visual design of the new printing platform. The main problem was that users had too much trouble designing and printing large, complex documents online, and then sending it to multiple different recipients around the world at multiple different times. We interviewed users of the current system at the time, recorded their pain points, and designed solutions according to those.

As the lead in visual design, I had to incorporate my design ideas into designs that were partially created from another firm, in addition to FedEx's own legacy designs some of which could not be changed. Needless to say, this posed some challenges. The final designs are currently being used on FedEx Print Online, and have been quite successful in eliminating the pain points users had. FedEx's online printing has grown substantially since, and we are currently in another phase on the project.
