good design sparks joy
Miau Lamp started as a school project and ended it up in a reflection about emotional design. My goal was to use deisgn to transform an everyday object into a meaningful piece. My strategy was to approach the user through the memories of their pets and multiples ways of interaction with the yarn and the electrical wiring. Miau allows the user to wind the wood cat in many different ways and position the lamp on the floor, side table, desk, hanged it on the wall using the tail... You name it.
Miau got a fresh collection in 2018. The Rio de Janeiro collection had 16 lamps with 4 different color combinations for the wire and wool. This new collection was upgraded from the original design since it got a wood cap finish for the light fixture.
