SCALES
"Scales" is an app for musicians and music enthusiasts seeking to compose melodies. The app offers a library of music scales, e.g. Pentatonic Major, Harmonic Minor, Bebop Blues and 100s of others to browse through as well as display on screen to interact with. The app allows complete user autonomy with music composition. The end result will be your own creation and not filtered heavily by how the app wants your melody to sound.
You make the music, we just set the mood.
The squares and circles are the notes that you can play and record on your iphone. The squares indicate a bass instrument and the circles indicate a lead instrument.
A NEW WAY OF LOOKING AT MUSICAL ELEMENTS
(Left) Pick the scale you want and you can visually see how the pattern of live notes changes. The colored circles are the notes you can play, while the watermarked circles are notes not present in the selected scale. The restriction allows for setting the mood of the song you make.
(Right) Once you've picked your desired scale, tap the dots to play the notes available.

ADAPTIVE
"Scales" utilizes screen real estate adaptively and efficiently. When you're on the compose screen, the tabs simply fade away to reveal the paging arrrows. Nothing should get in the way when playing music on a screen. Need to access the tabs again? simply click on the 4-dots icon at the bottom for the tabs to re-emerge.
