In today’s western society the elderly have become estranged from a youth obsessed culture exaggerating the social division. This division often causes them to be left out and forgotten. Studies have found just how damaging the effects of social isolation can be on the physical and mental health of a senior citizen.
Rekindle is a biannual print that encourages younger generations to revive the spirits of the elderly by discovering their amazing stories while they still have the opportunity.
I was inspired to do this project after working part time at a rest home during my time studying. As I came to know them, it made me realise the prejudice my generation has towards this group of incredible people. It made me want to reconnect the generations
