Travel Posters 2

These images are a couple more additions to the travel poster series I'm creating. In the end, I hope to at least touch on every major trip we've been on, and every destination that holds a special place for our family. So far, we are at five total; I hope to get in the range of 15 once I'm finished, and maybe add more as we continue to travel.

On a design note, these posters mark the first time (and probably the last!) I've ever used the standard PC font "Braggadocio". Sometimes I think it's fun to use typefaces that I'd never use generally, and try to make them work. But in this case, I just kind of landed this typeface. I was scrolling through a bunch of options in my design files, and for the first time I can think of, I paused for a while on Braggadocio, and found myself really considering it. Since then I've done some more research on this typeface, and found it (or similar faces) were in fact used in designs, including travel posters, of the deco era. So ... I guess in a way, it's appropriate!

A few years ago, my wife's parents invited us on a family cruise to Alaska's Inside Passage, aboard the Holland America ship, MS Zaandam. I'd never done a cruise before, as it's generally not been my style of travel. It did end up being fun to be on the boat, and because Alaska is so amazing, this was one of the more memorable trips I've had. One of my favorite places we visited was Glacier Bay National Park, which from what I understand is only accessible by boat or plane. I wish it was possible to portray adequately the absolutely pristine, quiet beauty and scale of this place. I attempted to capture at least a small glimpse of the quiet grandeur of Glacier Bay. My wife and I are depicted as tiny (yet technically way overscale) figures on the bow of the boat.

We go to Zion fairly often, probably at least once a year ... and it never gets old. One of our favorite things to do is ride our bikes through the park, but as our kids are growing up, it's even more fun to hike some of the amazing trails in the park.
Some color variations; just because I always have a very hard time deciding.
