The Brief: To create a showreel. We were asked to create a short and concise piece which only includes the best of our best work.

The Result: I decided to put a spin on the traditional notion of showreels by projecting sections of my showreel. Projecting the showreel is in response to my interest in the medium and to create a recognition for my reel.

Positioning the projector towards the corner of the room was inspired by Felice Varini, who painted murals in spaces which can only be correctly seen at a particular angle (Eight Rectangles, 2007). And James Turrell who projected shapes (Afrum, 1967) onto wall corners to give the illusion of form and mass.
To achieve the effect, the projector was aimed at the corner of the room, with the camera placed directly above the projector lens.
A serise of unused logos I was developing. I decided to brand myself by using projection instead.
To tchallenge myself I decided to try recreating the look of projected type in After Effects.
