Stage Mutineers
Eighteenth-century actors rebel against their managers and refuse to perform unless their demands for better roles are met. Published anonymously and attributed to Edward Phillips, this 1733 comedy with songs is based on an actual actor mutiny. This workshop production features live music, songs, anarchy, hoop skirts and wigs. Directed by Joel Schechter.
