3d metal text on wood

For this, I used my favorite quote from one of my favorite books, The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I followed the Virtual Macro Effects with 3D tutorial and used a stock photo from https://www.flickr.com/photos/107840304@N05/10728641805/in/pool-734017@N25/ and the font is Jellyka Delicious Cake. I followed this tutorial pretty closely as I realized that to see changes, this file would take between 10-18 minutes to render so i felt like I was doing this blind a lot. I used the wood background with the intention of having the text look burned in, but once I used white and achieved this melted silver/sodder effect I kept it raised. I pulled out the shadows further than the tutorial and I also didn't tweak the angle as much, mostly because the quote I chose was long and it affected readability.
