Zeit
In unserer Zeit ist Zeit ein Luxus. In unserer Jugend und danach immer weniger gibt es Momente, an denen die Zeit für einen dahinzukriechen scheint. Dies ist eine in unserer auf Effizienz getrimmten Gesellschaft ein immer früher eintretendes Phänomen, dem sich schon Kinder stellen müssen. Dabei ist Zeit ein vom Menschen standardisiertes Gut und trotzdem sehr subjektiv empfunden wird. Eine Person, die auf etwas ungeduldig wartet wie zum Beispiel ein Schüler, der auf das Ende der Schulstunde, empfindet die Zeit wesentlich anders, als der neue Lehrer, der sich erst an seinen Beruf gewöhnen muss. Die Ironie ist, dass der Zeitdruck, den wir empfinden zu meinen, meistens rein künstlich ist und man sich die Zeit für manche Dinge einfach nur nehmen muss.
Um eine Idee von Zeit in Bildern zu vermitteln, wählte ich diesen Hybrid aus Foto und Bewegtbild, nahm aber beim Endformat ein Hochformat, um mich vom Filmischen zu entfernen. Es ist an sich kein Cinemagraph, aber wurde von dieser Technik inspiriert. Durch die Art, wie ich die Fotos aufgenommen habe, entsteht ein Bild, bei dem man das Gefühl hat, dass die Hauptperson ein anderes Zeitgefühl hat, als der Rest der Umgebung.

Nowadays, time is becoming somewhat of a luxurious commodity. In our youth there were moments, when time just would not pass, but this changes as we get older. This is a phenomenon which is becoming more and more rare, since our society's main goal is efficiency.
Time is here a by humans standardized product, which still feels different to every person and even different in every moment. For Example, a student, who waits for the end of the lesson, might find time is taking forever to pass. However, a brand new out-the-college teacher might feel their first class passes in the blink of an eye. The irony is, the time pressures we think we feel, are mostly artificial and if you need time, you just need to take it.
To show the idea of time I used a hybrid of photography and animated pictures. I use the term hybrid since I put the stop motion video in an upright position to get away from the film look and have more of a photographic feel. It is not a cinemagraph but is certainly inspired by that technique. However, the way I took the photos suggests, that the main subject has a different perception of time then the surrounding world, which was the conceptual contrast I wanted to show.
