Star Wars Minimalistic Wallpapers

I took some of the most iconic characters from the Star Wars Saga and made minimalistic wallpapers. My designs consistently have a simple, blocky, neutral color scheme and I feel like it was even more exemplified with this project. By taking the main color in each piece and making it the background color, the other 2 or 3 colors in each piece really pop and accentuate the basic lines that distinguish each character. Each of the pictures is the dimensions for my 13 in. MacBook Laptop (2560 x 1600) and are vector images so they're clear when exported for this size and can be resized/cropped to be used for other things as well.
My first piece was of a Stormtrooper because I felt it was the most popular recently, especially with the release of Star Wars' new game, Battlefront. The black and white color scheme was also easy to work with and made figuring out how I wanted each piece to look a lot easier, since this one was very simple. Black and white are also very sharp and harsh, representing the strict ways of the Empire, or the "bad guys". The shine in the lense gives the picture depth and the shadow in the top left seperates the top of the helmet without adding a whole nother line to the top, making the blend from the helmet to the background sleek and pleasant to look at.
For my next piece, I chose one of the main characters that make up the Rebel army as opposed to the Stormtrooper that makes up most of the Empire's army. This helmet was a little different in the sense that it didn't fully cover the face of the wearer so I made it an empty helmet instead of trying to fill the face in. This color scheme gave me more room to add depth and was warmer and more inviting, which is how the Rebels are portrayed in the movies because they are essentially the "good guys". For this piece I added more shades of each color and really accentuated the sharp lines on the top of the helmet and depth that shows the helmet is empty. I added a similar shine and shadow to tie helmet to tie the two pieces so far together, as well as blending the main color of the helmet into the background.
After creating two generic character helmets, I decided to do an image for Princess Leia because she is definitely one of the most well known character. Using just her hair and lipstick kept the design simple and still brought out her most well-known qualities; her hair and being one of the few female characters. The shine was different in this design because she doesn't have glass or a hard surface to reflect off of, and the same goes for the shadow. I added different shades to different regions of her hair to still give it depth, but made it softer and more inviting. The liptstick gives a better idea of where the rest of her face would be and adds a touch of sass because it's red.
The most recent addition to my collection was of R2-D2, the most well-known robot and generally happy-go-lucky character of the movies. I felt like adding a funny character that most people enjoyed was a great way to finish up the collection (for now). Since my other pieces had generally light backgrounds, I wanted to switch it up and use the dark blue of his buttons for the background. By wrapping the blue pieces around the side of it's head, I was able to blend it into the background and keep that aspect of this wallpaper the same. The semi-circle being all one color kept the picture simple, but the few details in the "eye" and small cone-shape still kept it interesting. Again, I added the shine and shadow to keep the set uniform and add dimensions.
