Sceen print project
Was really curious to try this fantastic and ancestral technic...
Lucio is a character I created few monthes ago doing a wood sculpture.
I had already a kind of idea of the look I wanted to give to the picture,
old fashion illustration with hand lettering, and just two colors for the first sceen print session...

Here is the ink drawing, with a rough color test
Then did the layers for each color
Here is the place were my friend Roberto set up his screen print studio in Cureglia,
he is a very nice guy, incredibly imaginative to bild everything he need.
Love this place, it seems to be in dakar suburb... but we are in ticino...
Roberto had never print on paper, he exclusivly did textil printing, so the first time for each of us
Printed the celuloids, put them on the prepared screens for the light exposure.
Lenght is quite precise, sould reveal all illustration details but not burning them out.

What an emotion to discover the shapes as holes in the sceen emulsion.
And here is the reallly long-awaited moment!!!
I'm quite amazed buy the result, Roberto is a magician.
Sceen print is an incredible process, slow and fascinating,
especially in this digital printing age
where everything sould go faster and faster...
