What is APEC Voices of the Future?
This year, the Philippines hosted and chaired the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) with the theme “Building Inclusive Economies, Building a Better World.” In-line with this, the APEC Voices of the Future (VOF) program was held on November 12 to 19, 2015 in Manila.
The APEC VOF is an annual youth program that gathers 150 young leaders and educators from the 21 APEC Economies. By working and learning together, APEC Voices’ teams share their views on the APEC vision with world leaders, senior officials and even chief executive officers. During the weeklong event, the APEC Voices delegates are given the unique opportunity to engage in important dialogue with top policy makers and business leaders through their participation in the APEC CEO and SME Summits. More importantly, the event will also serve as a venue to strengthen cooperation with fellow young professionals as well as foster prosperity in the communities within the Asia Pacific Region.
Designing for APEC VOF with Inclusive Growth in Mind
I was fortunate enough to be tapped to join the working committee as a Director for Media and Communications, which included the honor of designing the Delegate Booklet and other peripheral materials. This isometric design was one of the many I submitted, and it remains to be one of my favourites. I followed the theme of “Building Inclusive Economies, Building a Better World.” by creating a city from scratch and using a clean and streamlined design.
