Bill Evans was my source of inspiration when I pursued jazz in high school. He is the figure in jazz piano history, often called the "Chopin of jazz piano," or sometimes the "Debussy of jazz piano." Still in love with his music, I thought it'd be awesome to design a book wherein I compile my favorite pieces by him and include some personal anecdotes and appreciation of each piece.

The five repeating horizontal lines are the staff lines on a sheet music. Since the harmonic voicings and melodic, elegant solos are some of his trademarks, I tried to visualize these characteristics by making the staff lines overlap (harmonic), curvy (elegant), and continue (melodic) throughout the pages of the book. The square dimension and layout attempt to give it an overall feel of a vinyl record.
