The innocent contrast

With the idea of contrast in mind, the development of the screen started with organic and geometric elements in it. Nature provided the surface with butterflies and haws on it. After observing different kinds of berries in India, the fruit of hawthorn was taken, called haws, for reference. Botanically they are pomes, but they look similar to berries. A haw is small and oblong, similar in size and shape to a small olive or grape, and red when ripe. The choice of these was to add freshness to the visual because they are pulpy and delicate.
For the second layer of the screen, geometry was explored in form of Fibonacci series. It occurs in various forms in nature, so instead of using it an organic way for its portrayal, line drawing became the method of representation of the series.

The innocent contrast is created by organic and geometric facets of nature coming together to become one screen. The two layers of the screen serve different purposes when used alone and together. The first layer of the screen allows diffused light to enter the room and the second layer allows direct light to enter through its cut out. The two layers together reduce the amount of light entering comparatively while keeping the room bright and gleaming.
