"Forgotten Australian Manufacturing" is a photographic serious that aims to document the declining Australian manufacturing industry, and the faces behind the issue.
The activation of new free-trade agreements, changes to the Australian manufacturing sector and socio-cultural-material shifts present a harsh reality for the future of Australian Manufacturing. To leverage new opportunities from these changes, manufacturers and designers must develop new goods that are viable for rapidly changing local and international markets.
This project is complemented through the creation of a web-based resource specifically aimed at linking emerging designers with local manufacturers. This acts as a mechanism to progress adaptation towards a viable local design and production future.
