halo
a more immersive take on music production knobs

-

A MIDI controller is a device that provides physical input for virtual instruments. Without its virtual counterpart, it does not produce sound.

Typical controllers include keyboards, drumpads, knobs, sliders, and mixed-use devices. Over the years, these devices have been redesigned and reimagined for better playability, expression, and portability.

However, knobs have pretty much remained the same, yet they are quite essential to the music production process. I sought out a form factor that is more inviting to use, robust to carry, and evoke a more expressive physical interaction.
