I attended an apprenticeship program under the guidance of Mr. Kiran Vaghela who is a Civil Engineer and a well renowned Architect in Bhuj, Gujarat.
During the course of this training, my brief was to design furniture for Indian middle income and low income groups. This product had to be such that it could be mass produced by local artisans.

Following the brief given, I conducted a small survey wherein I locally interviewed eight families from the low and middle income groups. After studying their living habits and lifestyles, I found that about sixty percent of them said that they prefer sitting on the floor while eating, working or even relaxing. Therefore, "COMPAC-TABLE" aims at serving the purpose of a table which can be used with floor-seating as well as with regular seating.
