Ericsson Nikola Tesla is a leader in information-communication technologies and is active for more than 55 years. During the last 10 years or so the company has managed to change the area of its work and establish itself and so become in Croatia a unique example of a company which was successful in its “reinvention.” In 2007. the company has decided to be the first Croatian company with a complete annual report. The task was to design an annual report that would present the company’s business results for the previous year in a general, social, and financial sense. In doing this it was necessary to maintain the given format and volume of print (number of pages and maximum bulk).

The annual report is realized as a typographical solution entitled “Young Talented Professional”, emphasizing the creativity based on knowledge and experience as the company’s unique comparative advantage. The designed messages are set in foreground, and so, in a creative and direct way, they communicate the company’s basic values - its mission, vision, goals and accomplishments which the company may and desires to share with others.

On first viewing the report, with its choice of cover paper (Gmund Alezan Wild Cameleon) and additional print of transparent orange scented varnish, speaks of the fresh approach which the company takes in its business, but also of the relation toward people and society in general. The grid system enables different information treatments, considering it is a matter of integrating three different units into a single publication. The entire publication is presented without illustrations and photographs, solely typographically (Leitura Sans, DSType) and from only three colors – with corporate blue and black, orange is introduced as the basic color for highlighting the layout.
