For this piece, I wanted to research whether their was a correlation between the speed limits on european motorways and the death tolls on them. Speed limits are a major law to adhere to, especially in the United Kingdom. Many people from the UK will be familiar with the promotional material that the government often publish, wether they are print campaigns seen on the side of the roads or TV adverts, most notably the 'Think UK - It's 30 for a reason' ad campaign. 

 

These adverts especially create much controvery and moral panic throughout the UKs society, as many believe that the UK has very dangerous roads. These adverts are smartly created though, these ads envoke themes of fear for the reader and subconiously makes them more coustious and adhere to the speed limits. What I really wanted to research and discover though, is how statistcally safe the roads of the UK are and how they comepare to other popular europeon countries.
