Tuscany and Burano

Tuscany is a region in Italy well known for its wine production (particularly Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino) and for being the home of Florence, the so-called birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. The following photos are a brief selection from my recent trips to in Tuscany.

Burano is an island in the Venetian Lagoon that is renowned for its lacework and its colored houses. Like Venice, it is a series of islands connected by bridges. It has a small population of about 4,000. These pictures are from my visit in May 2009.
