The Brief:
Look at the cradle-to-grave cycle of a product that Steers restaurants uses. Identify a sustainability problem in the cycle and suggest a solution for it.

The Solution:
THE PROBLEM: Plastic straws stay on the planet for over 200 years. According to The International Coastal Cleanup they are in the top 10 of most littered products on beaches worldwide and they contain BPA and other poisonous gases; not to mention the making of them only uses fossil fuels. So why not target these fast food chains and get them to make a small change that will make all the difference in the world?

THE SOLUTION: Eco-straws are made from only natural materials such as corn and they are  bio-degradable. They don’t contain harmful chemicles and they are cheap and easy to make.

Advertising the new eco-straws Steers uses and  how to recycle them in order to get a free King Steer Burger.

Loyalty cards will  be given out with every drink. The loyalty card fits like a cap over the cup and you can pop your 6 straws into the perforated holes.
Recycle the eco-straws in the new Steers compost bins found in every branch. The compost will be used on the cattle farms that supply Steers with their beef.
