DESCRIPTION
Shiny is a LED light sculpture that produces effects of light, color, and reflection through a complex structure of mirrors and Plexiglas equilateral triangles.  The dome shape allows the viewer to be involved and enveloped in an ambient experience.
 
 
PROJECT BRIEF
The aim of the project was to design and craft a lighting sculpture made using three different materials. For the final project was required the ability in using various laboratory tools.
 
DEVELOPMENT
For this project, I took inspiration from the geodetic dome shape. I analysed existing projects, such as the CRYSTAL DOME, located at the Swarovski museum. 
The final dome is made of methacrylate composed with three different material; methacrylate, mirrors and specific film which can reflect and break up the light. The LED system is integrated into the structure. The angle of the dome is designed to involve the users, enabling to see inside and admire the light reflections.
HOW 
I started from a cardboard model to design the shape and to understand how compose the structure. Afterwards I designed the led system and all the wired connections, then I started to hand cut all the elements required to create the sculpture. Every element in this project is made by hands and designed to be a unique piece.
